This little Caribbean beach town has grown tremendously in popularity during the last decade. There's a good reason for that - Playa is a fantastic place to spend your vacation, hang out, or live. The town has grown along the beach, so wherever you go, you will feel the closeness to the ocean.

Playa is fortunate to have some of the most spectacular ruins left by the Mayans very close to Playa del Carmen. There are taxis everywhere and a couple bus terminals for connections to Riviera Maya vacation resort towns and other parts of Mexico. Playa del Carmen is only 45 minutes from Tulum ruins, or Cancun.
